Wanting to act in showbiz from an early age, Sano seize his chance with the Junon Super Boy Contest, which he entered and subsequently won.

In 2012 he made his debut known as an “athletic college student” but soon afterwards dropped out of college to concentrate on his acting career. Sano was later awarded for his commitment with the chairman role in the 2013 Kamen Rider series, Kamen Rider Gaim, playing the title character and series protagonist Kouta Kazuraba /Kamen Rider Gaim .
