Debuting in 2001, Ikematsu played at age ten in the musical “The Lion King” before his 2003 Hollywood debut in The Last Samurai (2003) with the 2005 film Tetsujin 28 is credit as his first Japanese release. However, most would recognize him as the talented teenager in Dive!! (2005), which co-starred Hayashi Kento, and Tori.

He since has gone on to act in several other popular films, as well as dramas including the airing at the moment “MOZU season 1” as a troubled young man hunted as the prime suspect in a deadly bombing that happened in the middle of Tokyo. In conjunction with gaining more substantial dramas roles, Ikematsu is also showcasing his acting talents in the number of 2014 Japanese films including The Rising Sun Over Vancouver (2014) as a baseball player, Ikematsu a keen amateur player himself and fan of the Fukuoka Softbank Hawks.
